US Open & Battle of Atlanta

Uncategorized

There are two big tournaments coming up and I hope many of you will attend.  If you plan on attending, please let me know which ones you will be attending and if you have signed up by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

Battle of Atlanta has given us a school code.  One is for Black Belts and one is for Underbelts.  The Underbelts have a special code which gives them a special rate for three divisions and a 2 day pass (for a parent) for only $99.  This cannot be used with the Black Belt Code for the same student.

Our group code is:   SCSMABOA18

Our Under Belt code:  G-B9B7

If at all possible stay at the hotel where the event is held.  Sign ups, information and registration can be found here.

The Battle of Atlanta is run by the Ruth family and this is the 50th Anniversary of the event.  It is sure to be huge.  One of the really neat things about this tournament is it is run like the ProMac circuit and the AA competitors compete with the A competitors.  This gives a true ranking and compares your skills with the best of the best.  It is an amazing experience to be competing with these high level martial artists.

There is a Competitive Edge Seminar on Thursday and we always recommend training with them any chance you get.  If you choose to go early, you will not regret it.

Be sure to check out some of the Black Belt Divisions as well.  Don’t plan on just coming for your divisions and then leaving, you’ll be missing out on the magic of a tournament and the excitement of it!  You will not be given an exact time of when your division will run.  Likely there will be more than 500 competitors over the two days and as you can imagine, setting a time for each division to run when you don’t know how many competitors are in each division until the day of would be an impossible feat.  For a more positive experience, go with snacks in your bag, drinks and a lot of patience and willingness to enjoy.

Don’t miss the night show!  It is an incredible exhibition of the winners of the tournament’s events and it’s always exciting and powerful.  You’ll probably see some of your favorites up there, like Reid Presley, Mackensi Emory, Jackson Rudolph, Cole Presley, Jake Presley, Allen Davies (pronounced Davis!!!) and so many more talented martial artists.

We have a lot of information regarding tournament stuff here that I will be updating a lot in the coming weeks.
