WEEK OF FEBRUARY 1 UPDATED

CHECK THE SPARK APP FOR THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE

B DAY ALERT:

  • SENSEI CRISSI IS NEGATIVE STILL! ❤
  • WE WILL OFFER SPARRING TO THOSE WHO ARE ABLE.
  • IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR STUDENT TO SPAR, WE WILL HAVE SAFE OPTIONS FOR THEM.
  • PLEASE BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW WHETHER THEY CAN SPAR OR NOT.
  • IF YOU ARE DOING VIRTUAL, WE WILL FOLLOW THE SAME PLAN FOR THEM SO THEY CAN STILL PARTICIPATE IN CLASS!

We are doing our best to make sure that our students, families and instructors all stay safe during this peak of COVID-19.

We do not want to share it and have given everyone a very transparent view of what we are dealing with at home.

Many students are ready to continue their training, so we are trying to offer both in person and virtual options for our students.

Please register for in person classes through the spark app.  If you are struggling to get into a class, please let Ms. Crissi know by sending a message through the Spark App.

We are offering a revised schedule through the remainder of this week.  Sensei Crissi will be the only instructor at the dojo to make sure everyone stays as safe as possible.  She will be keeping distance from the students.

The dojo has been cleaned thoroughly and will be sanitized as often as possible in between classes.

Running Zoom during many classes may be a challenge, so please bear with us.

Anyone who attends classes at the dojo is encouraged to read the description of the class. We will not be sparring or working kata this week in the class.  The 7:00 class will be more of an open mat with fitness and striking elements.

Bold means there will be a virtual option.

Here’s the history:

Sensei Brandon (who does not attend the dojo very often) tested positive on Tuesday, January 26.  He began showing symptoms on Monday, January 25.

Sensei Crissi has tested negative as of Tuesday, January 26 and again on Friday, January 29.

We are going with the 7 day window if she tests negative again on Tuesday.

Any interaction with Sensei Brandon since three days before he tested positive has been masked and every precaution for safety and sanitation has been followed.

For the rest of the week, we will be offering separate virtual classes and some in person classes for those who feel safe to come in.  We will not be operating on a full schedule because we are trying to keep everyone as safe as possible as the cases continue to rise in our area and the hospitals are overloaded.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

  • We will not be doing kata during class. Lil Champions Classes will be the only class that we are rigid on only Lil Champions attending. Any of the other classes may be attended by any rank or age. We will do our best to communicate so that you can follow along.
  • Parents, please be sure you have the Spark App downloaded so that students can practice their katas. We are explaining all of that to them on the Virtual Class.
  • Please do not overwhelm the chat while you are doing Zoom.
  • For the safety of our students, please have your name be your name, not iPad 6 or something like that. That way we can be sure only our students are in the Zoom Room.
  • Please no eating.
  • Please wear your uniform, it looks really nice when you do!
  • It will be a fun and fitness for 30 minutes where you can take the extra time to work on your own with kata or ask any specific questions that I will try to answer.
  • Sensei Brandon has tested positive and Renshi and Ms. Crissi have tested negative. Brandon has been mostly isolated from the family and any contact since he discovered he was symptomatic has been masked. Renshi is recovering from knee surgery as well.
  • We appreciate your patience and thank you for understanding. We know this is a difficult time, but we’ve worked hard to keep everyone safe and will continue to! This too shall pass!
