SCS is a family owned and operating martial arts facility. Each student becomes part of our dojo family. We have many families who have spent several years training and working together towards their goal of Black Belt and beyond.
Sensei Sam Boyer has been training in the martial arts since 1985. He holds a 5th Degree Black Belt under Shihan Jeff Sgarlata of Impact Martial Arts and Fitness in Syracuse, NY. He also holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in TaeKwondo and is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Brian Glick and Shihan Gene Dunn of World Jiu Jitsu United. He expects to receive his Black Belt in 2021. Sensei is also a Certified Hisardut Krav Maga Instructor under Hanshi Moti Horenstein. His continued passion for learning and helping others succeed has helped hundreds of students to build confidence, be safer, walk taller and live healthier.
Sensei Brandon Boyer has been training since 2004. He is a 4th Degree Black Belt. His favorite weapon is the bo and often competes on the national tournament circuit. He also is a leader in the youth group at Destiny Church International.
Sensei Crissi Boyer, 3rd Degree Black Belt, has been training since 1997. Her prior experience as a dance and acrobatics teacher and long time exposure to martial arts contribute to her love of working with kids and adults alike. Ms. Crissi also enjoys judging at internationally and nationally rated tournaments and is part of PROMAC. She hosts the Jubilee Open and runs Lumos Tournament Promotion in addition to her work at SCS.
Ms. Kyleigh Boyer is a 2nd Degree Black Belt. She has trained since she was two years old and competes on the NASKA and PROMAC circuits. She is part of the premier team Competitive Edge, which is coached by many time world champions Jackson Rudolph, Reid Presley, Cole Presley and Jake Presley. She teaches our CMX Class and loves tricking, training and helping others become the champions they can be. She’s also a certified judge and scorekeeper.
Ms. Catherine Barnhart, 3rd Degree Black Belt, is an amazing assistant instructor. She is always there and loves working with kids and adults. She has a passion for Jiu Jitsu and is a Blue Belt. She is also a certified judge and scorekeeper on the PROMAC circuit. We are blessed to have such a dedicated woman in our program.
